Dryer Vent Build Up - There's a hidden fire hazard
in almost every home…
How to save your home - even your life... with a simple and
inexpensive service visit.
There's a hidden danger spot in
most homes today. Chances are you don't look at it or
even think about it. It's the venting from your clothes
dryer. Over time, it fills with lint that sneaks by your
dryer's filter. Overheating comes next as the lint builds
up. Now you're just a step away from a duct fire.

Here are some sobering facts:
The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that over 25,000 clothes dryer related fires occur each year.
In 1996, the result was over 20 deaths, 500 injuries and over $100 million in property damage, according to the commission.
The CPSC reports that the most frequent starting point for
these fires was the dryer vent area. The typical scenario is
simple. The dryer overheats, the lint catches fire and the fire
is then helped by combustibles in the immediate vicinity (these
fires can smolder for hours going unnoticed until after you’ve
gone to bed or left your house). Fortunately removing this danger
from your home is neither complicated nor expensive.
There are some nice EXTRA benefits as well. Removing this lint, for example, results in a dryer that runs cheaper, since it uses less energy to get your clothes dry. Drying times can even be shorter, getting you out of the laundry room faster. Finally, the dryer itself can last much longer since it’s not stressed by the higher operating temperatures caused by the lint buildup.
The charge for this service is surprisingly reasonable, and it will pay for itself in lower service and utility costs.
Dryer Exhaust Vent Cleaning:
Dryer exhaust vent cleaning improves both the safety and efficiency of your clothes dryer. Proper airflow, both intake and exhaust, is one of the keys to safe and efficient drying. |

Besides running the possible risk of the Dryer Exhaust Vent
catching on fire, if your dryer is gas operated, the possibility
of Carbon Monoxide is ever present. The above facts are
in no way meant to scare you, but for you to realize the importance
and need for this service.
If you think your clothes are taking longer to dry, your dryer is getting pretty hot, it feels quite warm and stuffy in your laundry area or lint is appearing all around your laundry area, it may be time to clean it.
As you use your clothes dryer, your dryer's lint filter only
captures between 40%-60% of the lint. The remaining lint is
sent through the exhaust system with the other debris and warm
moisture laden exhaust air.
T&D Duct Cleaning has the knowledge, training, experience, and special tools designed to do a clean and thorough job, even in the most difficult situations. We can even remove birds nests and other material that may be blocking or restricting the airflow. We can also repair existing dryer exhaust vents and install new ones.
This buildup makes your dryer take longer to dry your clothes causing more wear and tear on the dryer and clothes, and increased operating cost, both for energy to operate your clothes dryer and increased maintenance costs.
How do we clean dryer vents? – We perform two types of cleaning: Routine Cleaning and Problem Cleaning.
Routine Cleaning
All dryer vents are cleaned from the outside using a high pressure,
compressed air tool – a jet-snake. The jet-snake shoots
down the vent like a rocket, blasting loose lint, debris, and
nests, sending it to the outside. It will normally turn 2 or
3 corners, cleaning to the flexible hose behind the dryer. No
lint enters the dryer or residence. “Routine Cleaning”
is usually preformed on large quantities of vents at apartments
and condominiums.
Problem Cleaning
Problem Cleaning is performed when an individual dryer is not drying clothes fast enough. We disconnect and pull the dryer out, install a large blower on the vent, and blow, brush, vacuum and /or dismantle – whatever it takes to get the vent clean! Commercial dryers in central laundry rooms are also cleaned this way.
We service the Following Facilities:
